Third-Party Extended, in one paragraph

Third-Party Extended is the sweet-spot tier for most cars: everything in basic third-party, plus full theft and fire cover (with the rare 120% fire bonus from year 3), 100% windscreen replacement, and stronger personal damages. The only thing it doesn't cover is damage to your own car from at-fault accidents. Best for vehicles 5-10 years old, urban parking, anyone who's had a windscreen chip in the last year. About €100-€200/year more than basic - worth it for any car valued above ~€5,000.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference vs basic third-party?

Three big additions: full theft cover (including parts), fire damage (with 120% bonus from year 3), and 100% windscreen replacement. Plus stronger personal damages cover and travel assistance limits. Typically €100-€200/year more than basic - well worth it for any car worth more than ~€5,000.

How does theft cover work?

Both total theft (whole vehicle taken) and partial theft (parts, tyres, batteries, contents) are covered at 100% market value. Damage caused during attempted theft is also included.

What's the 120% fire bonus?

If your car is destroyed by fire from year 3 of registration onwards, Caser pays 120% of market value - meaning you can replace it with a slightly newer/better car. A genuine differentiator vs other insurers who pay 100% only.

Is windscreen really 100%?

Yes - full windscreen and glass replacement included with no excess. Vehicles outside the Caser garage network can use any glazier; you submit the invoice.

What's NOT covered?

Damage to your own car from accidents you cause. If you want that, upgrade to Fully Comprehensive (with selectable excess from €200 to €900).
