What affects your travel insurance premium
Travel insurance premiums depend on the destination region, trip duration, traveller age and tier you choose. Request a quote and we'll match the right Caser plan to your trip.
Price drivers
- Destination region: Spain/Portugal cheapest, Europe mid, US/Canada/Asia highest medical costs
- Trip duration: Longer trips cost more; annual multi-trip cheaper if you take 3+ trips a year
- Traveller age: Older travellers and seniors typically pay higher premiums
- Pre-existing conditions: Only Prestige covers deterioration (€15,000 limit). Disclosure at quote is essential
- Single vs annual multi-trip: Annual is much cheaper per trip for frequent travellers
- Add-ons: Trip cancellation (Vacacional/Integral), pet add-ons, adventure sports

Licensed & regulated in Spain
Independent broker registered with the DGSFP. We work with licensed Spanish insurers under Spanish regulation, so your travel cover is compliant and transparent.
Independent multi-portfolio broker
We're not tied to one product line. We compare the four Caser travel tiers (and other providers where relevant) and recommend the genuinely right fit for your trip.
Only Prestige covers pre-existing
Most travel policies exclude flare-ups of conditions you had before the trip. We're upfront about this — and only recommend Prestige (€15k cover) when it actually matches your needs.

Excess (copay) on travel insurance
No excess on most claims
- Most medical, repatriation and assistance claims paid in full up to the tier limit
- No deductible on emergency medical when using the assistance network
- Direct payment to hospitals arranged via the 24/7 line
- Confirm specific copay rules at quote for your tier
Limits and conditions apply
- Trip-cancellation cover is for covered causes only (not change-of-mind)
- Baggage claims usually need airline or police report
- Pre-existing condition cover (Prestige) capped at €15,000
- Adventure sports require specific add-on
Travel insurance typically has minimal or no excess on standard medical claims compared to private health insurance. We'll confirm any tier-specific copays at quote.
What to do in a travel emergency
Call the Caser 24/7 assistance line BEFORE seeking treatment abroad — they arrange direct payment with hospitals
Follow the assistance team's instructions for the nearest suitable facility
For repatriation, the assistance line organises chartered medical flights when needed (unlimited cover)
For lost or stolen baggage, file a report with the airline or local police immediately and keep a copy
Keep all receipts, invoices, medical reports and police reports
Take photos of any damage, accidents or incidents
Contact us afterwards for help with documentation and claim submission
Calling the assistance line first is critical — they can pre-authorise treatment, arrange direct payment to hospitals, and coordinate repatriation. Pay-and-claim later is possible but slower.

24/7 emergency assistance worldwide
When something goes wrong abroad, your insurer's assistance line is there to help – and so are we.

Frequently asked questions about travel insurance
Anything more specific — call or WhatsApp, we'll pick up.
Which travel insurance plan should I pick?
Spain or Portugal short trip → Vacacional. Europe trip up to a few weeks → Integral. US, Canada, Asia or any pre-existing conditions → Prestige. Going on a cruise → Cruise (regardless of destination — has cruise-specific cover land plans don't).
Are pre-existing conditions covered?
Only on Prestige (€15,000 limit). Vacacional and Integral exclude pre-existing condition deterioration. Always disclose at quote — even managed conditions like controlled asthma or well-controlled hypertension are typically excluded on the lower tiers.
Is trip cancellation included?
Standard on Prestige (€6,000) and Cruise (€3,000). Optional add-on (€1,500) on Vacacional and Integral. If trip cancellation matters for an expensive prepaid trip, Prestige usually pays for itself.
Can pets travel with me on the policy?
Yes — pet emergency vet (€1,000) and pet repatriation upon death (€500) are available as add-ons on all four plans.
Does it work for adventure sports?
Most adventure and high-risk sports (skiing, diving below recreational depths, mountaineering) need a specific sports add-on. Confirm at quote.
Single trip or annual multi-trip?
Both — single-trip per policy or annual multi-trip for frequent travellers. Annual is cheaper if you take 3+ trips a year and is available on all four Caser tiers.
Does it cover COVID-19?
Standard medical cover applies for COVID-related illness during the trip. Travel-restriction cancellations are not standard — confirm at quote what triggers your cancellation cover.
What about cruise itinerary changes?
The cruise line itself usually compensates for changes they initiate. Our Cruise insurance covers the medical, baggage and personal-trip risks but doesn't reimburse cruise-line-initiated itinerary changes.
Why is Prestige worth the higher price?
Going to the US, Canada or Asia where medical costs can quickly exceed €100k. Going on an expensive prepaid trip where €6k cancellation cover is critical. Travelling with managed chronic conditions (the only Caser plan that covers pre-existing deterioration). Frequent traveller with annual policy.
Is travel insurance mandatory for a Schengen visa?
For many non-EU nationals, yes. Schengen rules require travel medical insurance with at least €30,000 of medical cover and repatriation. Vacacional, Integral and Prestige all meet this threshold and we can provide the certificate.
What should I do in a medical emergency abroad?
Call the Caser 24/7 assistance line BEFORE seeking treatment. They can pre-authorise care and arrange direct payment with hospitals — far smoother than pay-and-claim. Repatriation, including chartered medical flights, is unlimited on every tier.
Does the cover work in international waters on a cruise?
Yes — the Cruise tier includes unlimited repatriation including from international waters, plus a separate €10k onboard medical limit on top of the €200k land medical. Worldwide cover applies regardless of cruise destination.
