Frequently asked questions
Is dog insurance mandatory in Spain now?
Yes - under Spain's Animal Welfare Act, civil liability insurance is now compulsory for ALL dogs regardless of breed (not just PPP). MIMAscota Civil Liability is the cheapest compliant option, from €47/year.
What about PPP (Perros Potencialmente Peligrosos) breeds?
PPP breeds (Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Rottweiler, Akita Inu, Tosa Inu, etc.) have always required higher liability cover. MIMAscota's €350k limit covers PPP requirements.
Are there breed exclusions?
No - all dog and cat breeds accepted. Caser's policy explicitly states no breed exclusions.
Is there an age limit?
No - older pets and pets with health issues are accepted. No medical questionnaire.
Are pre-existing conditions covered?
Caser states no health exclusions, meaning pre-existing conditions are not used to deny cover. However, always declare honestly at quote - false declarations can void cover.
